Product Designer shipping to Millions, measured in outcomes.
5+ years shipping consumer products in India. Currently designing 0 → 1 at Dalvoy (EdTech). Previously SpeakX: owned activation, paid checkout, and built the company's first design system. I turn ambiguous problems into measurable business outcomes.
Hi, I'm Shashank.
Five years into product design, I've come to believe good design has very little to do with how a screen looks, and almost everything to do with whether the right user does the right thing at the right moment. The visual is downstream of that decision.
Today I'm building Dalvoy from 0 → 1, already past 1 Lakh+ downloads at 12K DAU / 94K MAU, with a newly shipped Dalvoy Shorts feature lifting retention and engagement. Before that I owned activation and paid checkout at SpeakX: +6.01% D1 retention on the new-user flow, +38.8% conversion on the upgrade funnel, and the company's first design system (80+ components, Sketch → Figma migration in flight).
The way I work: I write before I wireframe, sweat error states before hero screens, and keep a decision memo on every project so the team knows what we deferred and why. I partner tight with PM and engineering from day one: the best designs I've shipped survived contact with reality because the trade-offs were debated in writing, not negotiated in retrospect.

Ten deep cases. Each proves a different muscle.
Dalvoy, 0→1: an EdTech product retaining and growing organically
The product I'm currently building from zero. Now past 1 Lakh+ downloads (12K DAU / 94K MAU), with Day-30 retention tripled (3% to 10%), growth doubling month-over-month, and 30%+ organic acquisition at a CPA under $0.10. The newly shipped Dalvoy Shorts feature lifted retention and engagement: the most honest test of every activation and funnel decision I learned at SpeakX.
UPI-first checkout: the 3× conversion lever hiding in segment data
Overall checkout converted at 5%. UPI users converted at 12–14%. Rebuilding around UPI as the default, video-led, two taps to paid, turned a segment insight into a shipped lift.
Gamifying the read-along lesson: a 4-day A/B win
Added points, streaks and per-word success animations to the read-along lesson. Modest but consistent. Held across all 4 test days, ~2K users per bucket.
Activation, year over year: 25% to 60% on a paid base
A year of compounding work on onboarding, intent capture and first-lesson recommendation. Day-zero activation more than doubled while CAC tripled around it.
Building a design system from scratch
Token-first architecture that eliminated design-to-dev drift and cut iteration time in half. Built while the product kept shipping.
Redesigning the membership page to cut churn at SpeakX
20% of subscribers cancelled on Day 0. Redesigning the membership page around learning progress changed the decision before the cancel button.
Live-session booking: from zero to 16% trial booking
Designed and shipped an in-app live-session booking flow from scratch. ~1 in 6 trial users booked a session within their first day, without cannibalising lesson activity.
Home Page V2: from catalogue to launchpad
The home page wasn't a catalogue, it was a launchpad. Once we treated it that way, lesson starts went up 62% and order creation followed.
Result Page: turning the end of a lesson into the start of the next one
Four shipped A/B iterations on the page every user hits. Practice up 19.5%, orders up to 37%, and payment success up 30.8% on the headline release.
Reminding users what they were buying: the checkout features bottom sheet
Surfacing premium features at the moment of payment, without blocking the CTA. Order creation rate jumped 79.8%, payment success 7%.
Where I've been, and how I work.
Five years. Four companies. One throughline.
Currently designing Dalvoy 0 → 1, an EdTech product live with 1 Lakh+ downloads (12K DAU / 94K MAU). Previously at SpeakX I owned activation and paid checkout (+38.8% conversion), shipped exit-intent retention (−4% churn), and built the company's first design system (80+ components). Earlier years at Vaipra Tech and Mobcoder shaped my systems and handoff discipline.
See full work history →Craft-obsessed. Metric-driven. Constraint-native.
I believe great product design is invisible on the surface and obsessive underneath. I partner tight with PM and engineering from day one, prototype fast, and sweat the edge cases. I write decision memos as much as I design screens.
